WHERE’S DEBI
Okay folks, I’m still here. Life got busy, traveling slowed down, body parts keep breaking…But at my age, who knows what could happen. And why does Medicare keep asking if I have loose rugs in the house.
Back in February, I got the bright idea of only traveling with carry-on luggage. No more checked bags. No more lost luggage. I even researched how to get weeks of clothes in our new smaller luggage.
I guess this was like the saying, “The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry.”
This is the thing. You can get a lot in a carry-on which makes it very heavy. On our trip to Florida back in March, my husband tore his rotator cuff and also had a bicep tear. All from throwing heavy luggage into an airplane overhead bin.
Our trip to Spain and Portugal, previously scheduled for May of 2024, had to be canceled. Thank goodness for trip insurance.
My husband has mended and we’re back on the golf course and traveling. We’ll still take our carry-on luggage, but we’ll check it.
It’s nice not having to worry if you’ll find overhead bin space near your seat.
We have made a few local trips, meaning in Colorado, and I’ll be posting those very soon. We are also gearing up for a return trip to Florida in late October to see the kids…and grandson! YAY!
In January, it’s off to Hawaii (Maui and Kauai) for our 25th anniversary and then in May we will head to Portugal to retry the trip that got cancelled this year.
So, stay tuned Itchy Feet travelers, there is a lot more to come…

You’ll love Portugal! Did the Viking cruise there and enjoyed it immensely. Hopefully/perhaps more books are in the works?
